dren and they are far less frequent in adults. Histologically, they are classified into three subtypes: embryonal, alveolar and pleomorphic. While the head and neck are the principal locations for childhood rhabdomyosarcoma, head and neck rhabdomyosarcoma is rare in adults (1). The overall survival is worse for adults than for children (2). The major sites of metastases are lung, bone, bone marrow, liver and kidney. Several investigators have evaluated the utility of FFDG PET or PET/CT for the assessment of childhood rhabdomyosarcoma at various body sites (3-7). However, there are no reports in the medical literature regarding the F-FDG PET/CT findings of adulthood sinonasal rhabdomyosarcoma. We report herein two cases of adulthood sinonasal alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma that showed intense hypermetaboloism and disseminated metastases on F-FDG PET/CT in a 48-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman, along with the CT and MRI findings.

F-18 FDG PET/CT Imaging of Eccrine Sweat Gland Carcinoma of the Scrotum with Extensive Regional and Distant Metastases
Eccrine carcinoma is an extremely rare malignant skin cancer arising from eccrine sweat glands with a high metastatic potential. It mainly occurs in the elderly, with equal incidence in both sexes. It usually spreads to regional lymph nodes, with liver, lungs, and bones being the most common sites of distant metastasis. Because of tumor rarity, little is known about the value of F18- FDG PET/CT...
متن کاملDiagnostic performance of 18F-FDG PET-CT in patients presenting with secondary neck nodes from an unknown primary
Introduction: Clinical examination and even anatomical imaging may fail to identify primary site of malignancy in patients presenting with cervical nodal metastasis. 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Computed Tomography (18F-FDG PET-CT) is known to overcome the limitations of anatomic imaging. Methods: Sixty-three (63) patient...
متن کاملDual-time-point FDG-PET/CT Imaging of Temporal Bone Chondroblastoma: A Report of Two Cases
Temporal bone chondroblastoma is an extremely rare benign bone tumor. We encountered two cases showing similar imaging findings on computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and dual-time-point 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/CT. In both cases, CT images revealed temporal bone defects and sclerotic changes around the tumor. Most parts of the ...

Mitochondrial myopathy, encephalopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes (MELAS) syndrome is a rare congenital disorder of mitochondrial DNA, presenting a wide range of clinical symptoms comprising headaches, seizures, aphasia, hearing loss, visual defects, and hemiparesis. Herein we report a case of a previously asymptomatic 40-year-old male who presented with recurrent headache, seiz...
متن کاملFactors influencing the pattern and intensity of myocardial 18F-FDG uptake in oncologic PET-CT imaging
Introduction:Myocardial 18F-FDG uptake is highly variable in oncologic whole body 18F-FDG PET/CT studies, ranging from quite intense to minimal distribution. Intense or heterogeneous myocardial 18F-FDG uptake is undesirable as it may interfere with the visual or quantitative evaluation of tumoral invasion and metastases in pericardium, myocardiu...
